Honorable Minister Vincent T. Seretse was appointed Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development in June 2018. He is also the Member of Parliament for Lentsweletau/Mmopane constituency. Prior to June 2018, Minister Seretse served as Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation. Before assuming his responsibilities as Botswana’s Chief Diplomat, Minister Seretse served as Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) from November 2014 to March 2018. 


As Minister responsible for Infrastructure and Housing Development, Hon. Seretse is actively involved with ensuring that his Ministry delivers quality government projects, on time and on budget. This includes national housing programs in line with his Ministry’s mission of facilitating home ownership among Botswana. He is also charged with the responsibility of facilitating an enabling environment for project execution by overseeing the registration of construction professionals like engineers, quantity surveyors and architects.

Ms. Wamahia is the founder of Adroit Facilities Limited (AFL), which is a facility Management Company based in Kenya. AFL has been in the Kenyan market since 2015 and provides facilities management services in the country. How sustainability can help optimise building performance

Sithabile Mathe has 19 years of post-graduate experience in the built environment working with both design and implementation of projects. She qualified in Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland. In 2006, she established Moralo Designs, an Architectural Practice which now offers Urban Design, Architectural Design, Landscape Design, Interior Design and Project Management services. Her professional experience is also within contractual matters and project management of building projects as well as assessments of the financial viability of projects. She also has extensive work experience from Botswana, South Africa, Norway, South Sudan and Tanzania. Ms. Mathe serves as Chairperson of the Architect’s Registration Council of Botswana and as Deputy Chairperson of the BHC Board. She is also Council Member for the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) as Vice President Africa Region and the Chair of CAA Validation.

How effective is space optimisation in maximising facilities use?

Johann is Head of the Academy for Facility Management and currently serves as Chairperson of the ISO/SABS Technical Committee (TC267) for Facility Management.

He holds various qualifications including a Masters’ degree from the Univ. of Pretoria as well as the International Diploma in Facility Management from FMH in the Netherlands.

Johann has been involved in FM education for two decades, starting first at TUT, later at the University of Pretoria and currently at the Academy as lecturer, researcher and curriculum developer.

Johann is a long-standing member of the Technical Committee and during this time he has participated as a subject matter expert on the development of four ISO standards for FM as well as SANS1752 (Strategic FM System Standard)

International FM standards – what can we learn?

Mother.K is a social enterprenuer, she is co-founder of a Mental and Emotional wellbeing organization in Botswana called AfroBotho. AfroBotho has worked with corporate’s, NGO’s, educational institutions and hosts Mindfulness Retreats.

Mother.K started practicing meditation over 10 years ago to relieve stress and exhaustion that was due of high demanding job during the peak of her corporate in the media industry as a Commercial Head responsible for advertising and marketing, distribution departments. Her role caused her stress, anxiety and pressure to always outperform her last best achievement.She decided to take the road less travelled and gave up her corporate career to follow her soul calling which was to find personal peace and to help others find theirs.  As one who is always willing to learn she began to study meditation, breathing techniques and mindfulness.
